Terms of Service
Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using BridgeHealth ("the Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. About the Service
BridgeHealth is a public-interest website that displays bridge inspection data sourced from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) National Bridge Inventory (NBI). The Service is provided for general informational purposes only. It is not a professional engineering service and does not constitute safety advice of any kind.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. By registering, you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate and complete.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@bridgehealth.net if you suspect unauthorised access.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the Service, or engage in fraudulent activity.
4. Free and Pro tiers
The Service offers a free tier and a paid Pro tier. Features available under each tier are described on the Pricing page and may change over time with reasonable notice.
Pro subscriptions are billed monthly or annually via Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel at any time from your account page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.
5. API access
API keys are issued for personal or commercial use subject to the rate limits associated with your tier. You may not resell raw API access, use the API to build a competing bridge data product, or circumvent rate limits by any means. We reserve the right to revoke API keys that violate these conditions.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Scrape, crawl, or systematically download data beyond what the API permits
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service
- Misrepresent data from the Service in a way that could cause public harm
- Use the Service to make safety determinations about specific bridges without independent professional engineering assessment
7. Data accuracy and disclaimer
Bridge condition data is sourced from the FHWA NBI and is provided as-is. We make no warranty regarding its accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose. A full explanation of what the ratings mean and their limitations is available on our Data Disclaimer page, which forms part of these Terms.
8. Intellectual property
The underlying NBI data is public domain, published by the US federal government. The BridgeHealth name, logo, site design, and original written content are owned by BridgeHealth and may not be reproduced without permission.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BridgeHealth and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service, including but not limited to damages arising from reliance on bridge condition data displayed on this site.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BridgeHealth and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these Terms or your use of the Service.
11. Changes to the Service and Terms
We may modify the Service or these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
